In June 2008, Charlie flew to Los Angeles to record Barry Manilow’s new release, along with bassist, Leland Sklar, for producer Scott Erickson (Erickson Entertainment) that was released in November of the same year. Charlie did more studio work for Mexican artists in 2010, including a follow-up album for Manuel Mijares (which went platinum) and a huge selling album for female Mexican singer, Yuri (which also went platinum). On the live front, he played some rewarding concerts with John Jorgenson’s Gypsy Jazz quintet. He was part of a team that developed an iPhone app called Drums Challenge. He also recorded 2 albums in the studio with “The Voice” finalist, Karla Davis as well as more freelance studio sessions for people across the globe, including Disney music for producer/arranger, Scott Erickson. Charlie was involved in a project that started in 2014, involving the music of Singer/Songwriter, Frankie Miller (produced by David Mackay). This album features appearances from artists such as: Kiki Dee, Paul Carrack, Bonnie Tyler, Joe Walsh, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Delbert McClinton, Willie Nelson. He also recorded an album in Nashville, for TenTen Publishing writer, Scott Stepakoff, which included a local album release show. Charlie continues to “sub” regularly with The Guess Who, as well as shows with Richard Marx, again subbing for his drummer, and he continues with live shows & studio sessions with Orleans, VCR, and RPM as well as numerous freelance studio sessions.
