Up at the crack of dawn (before dawn, actually), and on the road. We made it to Dublin airport in time to get Jeff on his flight home. He has a gig the day after he returns! Then, the three remaining (JJ, Scott and myself), drove to Dun Laoghaire (pronounced Dun Leahrie) to catch the Sea Cat to the mainland. The sea was as calm as a millpond. Our journey across the notorious Irish Sea was as smooth as I have ever seen it. In fact we arrived on the other side early, which helps with our mad dash back to Watford and my storage locker. We made excellent time to Manchester, where we dropped off some of the audio equipment (along with Alan’s rented bass amp, after he blew his up in Newcastle, all those gigs ago). So, with an ever lightening van, we continued on our way. We had called ahead to ask the storage place to remain open after hours. As it happens, we arrived in Watford before they closed, and only kept them waiting a short while. Then it was back to my parents’ place in Berkhamsted to bolt the two rows of seats BACK into the van! Scott and JJ left soon after 8pm…. they are off to the Races tomorrow – John Steven (Sennheiser) has invited them to join a group of people giong to Ascot for the day. I am off to Gatwick, to fly to Orlando, first thing in the morning. Looking back it is hard to imagine that we accomplished 14 dates in 15 days, with nearly 2,700 miles of travel! This included two Irish Sea crossings, which in themselves can be an ordeal (but which in this case, were not).

My itinerary, on returning home to Orlando, is to fly straght out again and play two nights for Orleans in NEW Orleans, before I can even begin to contemplate recovering from jet lag! I am looking forward to doing the gigs, though. :-)
