Day off: Charleston, SC. I had a couple of problems with the room last night. It appears I was right above the laundry, and the tumble dryers were going throughout the night. I finally got up at 7.30am and called down. They’ve now moved me to the other end of the hotel. I have to walk for 5 minutes to get to the elevator, but I prefer to know that I’m going to sleep tonight!I swam 50 lengths this morning. And also did some weights.It certainly helps to work out the stiffness in my shoulders.John Mahon and I
walked round town for over 2 hours. Through the market area, down to the sea, where we watched the dolphins swimming in the bay (about 100 yards offshore).
This evening, 7 of us met for a curry at a nearby Indian restaurant. It was surprisingly good. We “Brits” are spoilt for choice when Indian food is concerned, and we regard ourselves as experts in the field.After the meal, I rushed back to find out how tonight’s Indians/Orioles game was going… Baltimore won, although the Indians gave them a run for their money in the 9th inning.
